How Keyword Subscription Works in SendApp Agent

The function Keyword Subscription allows you to automatically assign tags to contacts when they send a message containing a specific keyword.
It is an essential tool for automating subscriptions, unsubscriptions, segmentation, and marketing activation.

What is it for?

With the Keyword Subscription you can:

  • create automatic campaign subscriptions;
  • assign or remove tags without human intervention;
  • distinguish uppercase and lowercase keywords;
  • decide whether to request an exact message match;
  • create highly precise segmentation flows.

It's perfect for businesses that manage leads, event registrations, promotions, WhatsApp newsletters, and SMS lists.

How to Create Your First Keyword Subscription

Open the Applications section

From the SendApp Agent side menu, go to:

Applications → Keyword Subscription Setup

You will see the introductory screen with the button:

✔️ Create Subscription

Click it to start the setup.

 

Matching Options

These options make the system more accurate.

✔️ Uppercase / Lowercase

If enabled, “SIGN UP” and “subscribe” are treated as two different words.

✔️ Exact Match

If enabled, the message must be identical to the keyword.

Example:

  • Keyword: #1
  • The contact must send only #1

If disabled, the system will recognize the keyword even within longer sentences.

Practical examples

Example 1 – Classic registration

  • Keyword: sign me up
  • Tag assigned: enrolled
  • Confirmation message: “You have successfully subscribed to our advertising campaigns.”

 

 

Example 2 – Unsubscribe

  • Keyword: DELETE
  • Tag assigned: deleted
  • Confirmation message: "Unsubscription successful"“

 

 

Example 3 – Company segmentation

  • Keyword: #1
  • Tag assigned: Company
  • Option: Exact Match
  • Confirmation message: “Thank you for letting us know you are a company.”

Activating the rule

At the bottom you will find the switch:

🔘 Active

When it's green, your subscription is active.

Click Save to finalize.
