Reading deleted WhatsApp messages is possible (and easy) with these tricks and apps. Will the other person no longer be able to hide anything?

Like read deleted WhatsApp messages? If you're wondering, there's more than one way. Since when? Whatsapp released the feature that allows you to delete messages for everyone after sending, developers have taken the opportunity to create apps and programs that allow you to know what was written in the message deleted.

One of these is WhatsRemoved, very simple to use but questionable in terms of privacy as it violates the user's choice to hide what they've previously written. This application, available for Android, asks for permission to read and save WhatsApp notifications on the smartphone and records every message received. The user can choose to read all messages, including media files like photos, audio, and videos; only text messages; or only deleted messages, without saving the sender's name.

WhatsRemoved, however, has limitations: it won't work if conversations are silent, there's no internet connection, if battery saver is enabled, or if the sender immediately deletes the message. WhatsApp: How to read deleted messages.

Alternatively, those who have lost WhatsApp messages and attachments and want to recover them (but have not yet made a backup) can use a data recovery software such as Dr Fone, available in both iOS and Android versions.

After installing the program, connect your device to your PC and grant permissions. In the next window, select "WhatsApp Messages and Attachments" to start scanning for files to recover (messages, photos, videos, voice notes, etc.) and click "Recover" > "Recover Device" to restore the messages to your phone. You can also recover deleted WhatsApp messages from an iCloud backup: simply open the program, select "Recover from iCloud Backup Files," then enter your iCloud account information and decide which files to recover.

WhatsApp: deleted messages remain in memory

Another trick to read deleted messages on WhatsApp was revealed by the Spanish site months ago Android Jefe, explaining step-by-step how to see what someone wrote before deleting the message. This method doesn't allow you to recover photos, audio notes, and videos, but it can still be very useful. Here's how.

What is revealed is that even the deleted WhatsApp messages remain stored in the notification center of the operating system Android. All you have to do is access the notification histories to recover deleted messages from the conversation. For the trick to work, however, you must have installed Android 6 or later, keeping in mind that compatibility varies from model to model.

To find out what was written in that deleted message from the chat, one solution is to download an app like Notification History, which creates a link to the system notification center. Here you need to look for the "WhatsApp" entry and the deleted message will be in the row "android.text".

Another way to access your notification history is Nova Launcher. Go up Activity > Settings and select Notification log to create the shortcut on the home screen. This way you can enter your Android notification history and search for deleted WhatsApp messages by a user, as we can see in the screenshot above.

Deleted WhatsApp messages has limits

The author of the post points out that this trick for recovering deleted WhatsApp messages has some limitations. First of all, it can only recover the messages that have already been seen or those that have been accidentally dismissed from the notification bar. When the system detects these activities, it saves the messages to the System Log; otherwise, it only displays the warning “This message has been deleted”.

Furthermore, you will only be able to see the first 100 characters or so of the deleted message. If it is a long text, it will not be possible to read it entirely. You should also know that the log does not save notifications forever, but only for a few hours. This only works with received messages that have generated a notification on the screen. Finally, if you want to recover photos or multimedia content You won't be able to delete WhatsApp messages that the other person has deleted because the system only saves text messages.
