The companies they must get membership before sending proactive notifications to customers. Companies can get membership in a multitude of ways, both inside and outside WhatsApp. Ultimately, we want to help people get useful information from the companies they want to hear about.
Activation methods such as via your website, interactive voice response streams (IVR) or in a WhatsApp thread are acceptable.
Requirements
Companies must comply with the following requirements to get activated:
- Companies must clearly state that a person is opting to receive messages from the company via WhatsApp
- Â clearly indicate the name of the company from which a person is opting to receive messages
- Â comply with applicable law
Useful tips
The companies they should continue to optimize the user experience by obtaining membership. For example, companies should:
- Explicitly call the types of messages to which a person is subscribing (e.g. Delivery updates)
- Avoid sending messages to people too frequently
- Provide instructions on how customers can cancel and honor these requests
- Monitor your quality assessment, particularly when implementing new activation methods
High quality maintenance
Conducting high-quality conversations between people and companies is still a top priority. People can block or report businesses and our systems will evaluate the limit of commercial activities if the quality of the company is low for an extended period of time. We may also reactively evaluate a company's opt-in flows, including user feedback, to report policy violations and develop additional types of applications over time.
